Yet another day in my life: wake up, cup of joe, check email, sync my mobile phone and agenda, grab some music for on the go
*Chime*

I got the message that iTunes 8 is available.
Ah, okay… update…
*connects the ipod*
*WHAM!* [blue screen of death]
WTF!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, restart…..
5 minutes….
10…..
15….
now it’s getting serious: nothing on my screen.
I unplug everything from my laptop, restart. Et voila, no problemo… (oh yeah, the ipod was still plugged in during the 15 minutes reboot).
Rolling back to itunes 7.0.2… ipod in… no problemo… phyeffhhh
After some googling, it was mentioned that the built-in USB driver is the culprit.
But WTF dude… It’s always the same crap with iTunes. Almost every major release of iTunes will gimme BSOD, error, you name it.
The previous update also gave me problem; it was only for the Vista x64(64 bits vista-variant)…. WTF?! I don’t own a 64-bits machine… gimme just plain 32! (it was solved after installing SP1 though).
According to some Vista / Apple insiders, until today, 15 sept 200, there is still no solve for this problem.
Word of advise: if you’re using Vista, stay away for the time being from iTunes 8.
Addendum: Apple acknowledged the error. See here for the fix http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2280
